CBS has announced its fall premiere dates for the 2024/25 season, including the debut of the new Young Sheldon spin-off Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage.

The series premiere of Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage will air Thursday, October 17. The show is inheriting Young Sheldon's 8/7c time slot. The show will be followed by the fourth season of comedy Ghosts at 8:30/7:30c, the new Kathy Bates legal drama Matlock at 9/8c, and the second season of crime drama Elsbeth at 10/9c.

In Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage, Montana Jordan and Emily Osment return as the titular Georgie and Mandy, who are raising their young family while living under her parents' roof. Will Sasso and Rachel Bay Jones will reprise their roles as Mandy's parents, Jim and Audrey McAllister.

Speaking at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour over the weekend, executive producer Steve Molaro revealed that Young Sheldon stars Zoe Perry (Mary Cooper), Raegan Revord (Missy Cooper) and Annie Potts (Meemaw) will be guest starring on Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage. Molaro told TVLine that "Zoe and Annie are in the first episode, and Raegan will be in the second episode."

Will Sasso and Rachel Bay Jones have joined the cast of the Young Sheldon spin-off Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage, according to a report from Deadline.

The pair will reprise their Young Sheldon roles as Mandy's parents, Jim and Audrey McAllister, in the new multi-camera sitcom. Both actors first appeared in the sixth season of Young Sheldon and recurred through the final season.

Canadian actor Will Sasso is best known as a cast member on the sketch show MADtv from 1997 to 2002. His other credits include starring roles on the sitcom Less than Perfect and the comedy-drama Loudermilk. Before Young Sheldon, Sasso had a recurring role on the Chuck Lorre sitcom Mom. 

Rachel Bay Jones, an American actress and singer, is best known for her Broadway roles in Pippin and Dear Evan Hansen. Jones won a Tony award for her role in Dear Evan Hansen as the titular character's mother. Her TV credits include recurring roles on God Friended Me and The Good Doctor. Jones recently had a recurring role on the Chuck Lorre sitcom United States of Al.

The network revealed the show will be titled "Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage". Montana Jordan and Emily Osment will return as the titular couple.

The show follows new parents Georgie (Jordan) and Mandy (Osment) as they raise their young family in Texas. No additional cast members have been announced yet. Unlike Young Sheldon, the new show is a multi-camera sitcom which will be filmed in front of a studio audience, like The Big Bang Theory.

Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage will take over Young Sheldon's Thursday 8/7c time slot. The show will be followed by the fourth season of the sitcom Ghosts at 8:30/7:30c. Matlock, a new legal drama starring Kathy Bates, will air at 9/8c, and the second series of the crime-mystery drama Elsbeth will close the night at 10/9c.

CBS has ordered a Young Sheldon spin-off starring Montana Jordan and Emily Osment to air in the 2024/25 season.

The project was first reported to be in development in January this year, two months after CBS announced Young Sheldon would end with its seventh season.

The show, which does not have a title yet, will follow new parents Georgie (Jordan) and Mandy (Osment) as they raise their young family in Texas. Unlike Young Sheldon, the new show will be a multi-camera sitcom filmed in front of an audience, like The Big Bang Theory.

Jordan has portrayed Georgie Cooper since Young Sheldon debuted in 2017. Osment first appeared as Mandy McAllister in the show's fifth season and joined the cast in the sixth season.

The new show is from Young Sheldon producers Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro and Steve Holland. Lorre and Molaro were the creators of Young Sheldon, while Holland joined the show in 2019 after The Big Bang Theory ended its twelve-season run. The trio all worked together on The Big Bang Theory, which Lorre co-created in 2007.

Young Sheldon launched as a The Big Bang Theory spin-off in 2017, and quickly became the top-rated sitcom of that season. Since The Big Bang Theory ended in 2019, Young Sheldon has held the spot of the #1 sitcom on TV.

The final season of Young Sheldon airs Thursdays on CBS. The show will conclude with an hour-long series finale on Thursday, May 16.
