'Georgie and Mandy' debut tops Thursday ratings
The series premiere of Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage was the most-watched and highest-rated program on Thursday night, continuing the legacy of domination established by The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon.
The pilot episode of the Young Sheldon spin-off attracted 6.56 million viewers and garnered a 0.47 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic. In comparison, the final season of Young Sheldon had averaged 7.34 million viewers and a 0.53 rating in the demo.
Georgie and Mandy had a lead of 2.4 million viewers over its competition. ABC's 9-1-1 drew 4.16 million viewers, Law & Order on NBC had 3.09 million, FOX's Hell's Kitchen had 1.48m viewers, and The CW's Scrabble had an audience of 320,000 people.
In the adults 18-49 demographic, Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage led the competition by a tenth of a point. ABC's 9-1-1 recorded a 0.37 rating, Law & Order on NBC had 0.25 rating, Hell's Kitchen on FOX posted a 0.23 rating, and The CW's Scrabble came in with a 0.05 rating.
CBS continued to dominate the rest of the night with Ghosts at 8:30 delivering an audience of 5.57 million and a 0.47 rating, Matlock at 9 with 6.38 million viewers and a 0.36 rating, and Elsbeth at 10 with 4.76m viewers and a 0.27 rating, all ahead of the competition.
