Mary Cooper: This is a nice surprise.
Georgie: Just wanted to drop off some of CeeCee's old clothes for the donation room.
Mary Cooper: Oh. Are you sure you don't want to hang on to these in case you have another one?
Georgie: Oh, we ain't planning on another one just yet.
Mary Cooper: You weren't planning on the first one, either.
Georgie: Fair point.

Jim: Maybe next year, we can take CeeCee to the Macy's Parade.
Audrey: [gasps] You're not taking my granddaughter to New York City. She'll come back a Democrat.
Mandy: She's a baby.
Audrey: A God-fearing, Republican baby.

Meemaw: So, how's it going? My little great-granddaughter saying "meemaw" yet?
Mandy: No, just "dada." Pisses me off.
Dale Ballard: Uh, enjoy it. My kid doesn't even talk to me anymore.
Meemaw: Why bring it up?
Dale Ballard: It's called making conversation.

Georgie: Ooh, what's this?
Audrey: Well, that's cranberry sauce.
Georgie: Why ain't it shaped like the can?
Audrey: It's homemade.
Georgie: Huh. Maybe next year we should spring for the good stuff.

Jim: Why you all dressed up?
Connor: I was told to look nice for company.
Jim: That meant take a shower.
Connor: Oh. Be right back.

Mandy: Want some hand lotion?
Georgie: How many times I got to say no?
Mandy: Men can take care of their skin, too.
Georgie: Yeah, men in California.
Mandy: We have got to get you on a plane one of these days.

Georgie: Mrs. McAllister, I was hoping to talk to you about Thanksgiving.
Audrey: Well, sure.
Georgie: I really think me, Mandy and CeeCee need to spend it at my mom's.
Audrey: This is the first Thanksgiving since your dad passed. Of course you should.
Georgie: Oh. Thank you. That's a relief.
Audrey: Why?
Georgie: Why what?
Audrey: Why would you think that I would be upset that you want to spend Thanksgiving with your grieving mother?
Georgie: Well...
Audrey: What kind of monster do you think I am? [Jim sneaks out of the kitchen]
Georgie: Um...
Jim: [o.s.] Georgie, let's go. We got to get to work.
Georgie: Got to go. Thanks again. [hushed] You saved my butt.
Jim: Keep moving. Keep moving.

Georgie: Fine. Then come have dinner at the McAllisters'.
Mary Cooper: With your mother-in-law? Not for a million dollars.
Georgie: Oh, come on. She's not a monster. [off Mary's look] Come on.
Mary Cooper: No.
Georgie: Fine. I didn't want to do this, but as the man of the house, I'm putting my foot down. You're coming.
Mary Cooper: I have a foot of my own. Would you like to know where I'm gonna put it?
Georgie: No, ma'am.
Mary Cooper: All right, then. [exits]
Georgie: "All right, then."

Georgie: She don't want to do Thanksgiving.
Mandy: What do you mean, like she doesn't want to cook?
Georgie: She don't want to do it at all.
Connor: May I interject?
Mandy: What?
Connor: I'm considering getting a cat.
Jim: Connor, not now.
Connor: Let me know when.

Mandy: She knows she's welcome here, right?
Georgie: She just wants to sit home by herself.
Mandy: What are you gonna do?
Georgie: I don't know. I hate the thought of her being all alone.
Connor: Now?
Jim: Fine.
Connor: You're never alone if you have a cat.

Jim: Sweet of Georgie to worry so much about his mom.
Audrey: It is. I hope our kids worry about me when I'm a widow.
Jim: What makes you think I'm gonna go first?
Audrey: Jim.
Jim: Fine.

Jim: And of course they're gonna worry about you.
Audrey: I'm not so sure. Amanda's likely to stick me in a home first chance she gets.
Jim: On the bright side, Connor will probably be your roommate.
Audrey: Very funny.
Jim: Hope you like cats.

Mandy: It's pecan, his favorite. I was hoping to cheer him up.
Jim: Yeah, he has been a little moody lately. Kind of snapped on a customer.
Mandy: What happened?
Jim: Well, they wished him a happy Thanksgiving, and he said, "Whatever."
Mandy: Ooh, for him, that's bad.

Mandy: Well, this is his first Thanksgiving without his dad.
Jim: Sure, that's rough. George was a good man.
Mandy: Sure was.
Jim: You know, I thought we'd be celebrating Thanksgivings together for a long time.
Mandy: Me, too.
Jim: But, uh... [sniffles] guess you never know what the future holds.
Mandy: Makes you appreciate what you do have.
Jim: We're really lucky.
Mandy: [voice shaking] We sure are. Don't you go anywhere.
Jim: Oh, I won't, baby girl. [they hug]
[Ruben walks out from the shop floor, takes one look at Jim and Mandy hugging and turns back]
Mandy: You better not. [sighs] I should go.
Jim: [sniffles] All right. Well, thanks for stopping by.
Mandy: Don't eat Georgie's lunch.
Jim: I am hungry, but I won't.

Meemaw: What about you? How you doing?
Mandy: I'm all right. I'm a little worried about your grandson.
Meemaw: Oh. Is this about Thanksgiving? [Mandy nods] Well, you just got to give Mary time. When my husband died, I was just miserable those first few holidays.
Dale Ballard: Maybe he died because you're miserable.
Meemaw: It's a big house. Go somewhere else.
Dale Ballard: Good day. [exits]

Mandy: Um, so here's the thing. Georgie's going through a rough time, and I want to help.
Meemaw: What can I do?
Mandy: Well, it would mean a lot to him if you could be with us for Thanksgiving.
Meemaw: [sighs] Oh, honey, I am so sorry. I promised Dale I'd go camping with him.
Mandy: Oh, that's okay. It's all right.
Meemaw: Just let me talk to Dale. [shouts] We're not going camping!
Dale Ballard: [returns] I was gone 20 seconds. What the hell happened?
Meemaw: We're having Thanksgiving with Georgie.
Dale Ballard: I've been looking forward to this for months.
Meemaw: Oh, I know, honey. I have, too. [to Mandy] What time you want us?

Missy Cooper: [on the phone] But first, I need a little favor.
Mandy: Anything.
Missy Cooper: Take me to get a tattoo.
Mandy: What? No.
Missy Cooper: You said, "Anything."
Mandy: Yeah, and then you said "tattoo."
Missy Cooper: I guess I'm not going.
Mandy: Oh, come on.
Missy Cooper: I can't decide between a dolphin or a sunflower. What do you think?
Mandy: I am not taking you to get a tattoo.
Missy Cooper: All right, well, maybe I'll see you at Christmas.
[cut to Missy and Mandy at a tattoo parlor:]
Missy Cooper: Ow, it hurts.
Mandy: Good.

Mandy: Hey, I hope it's okay I invited Missy, Georgie's meemaw, and her fella Dale to Thanksgiving.
Audrey: Her fella?
Mandy: Her beau? I don't know what to call old people who are doing it.
Audrey: I've seen him. They're not doing it much.

Audrey: It's fine, the more the merrier.
Mandy: Okay. Thank you, I appreciate it.
Audrey: And don't think you're sticking me in a home someday. I'm dying in this house.
Mandy: What?
Audrey: You heard me.

Mandy: So, good news, your family's coming to Thanksgiving.
Georgie: Really? Everyone?
Mandy: Well, Meemaw, Dale and Missy.
Georgie: Oh, still no on my mom?
Mandy: Um, I tried, but...
Georgie: It's okay, this is great. Thank you. How'd you convince my sister?
Mandy: I ju-- I just asked nicely.
Georgie: That don't sound right.
Mandy: Well, what can I say? The kid loves me.
